This workshop will provide a hands-on approach to bladesmithing from experienced blacksmith, Christian Asencio. Learn how to make a “blacksmiths” knife using project specific tools and equipment. Additionally you will learn: metal-movement basics, the heat treatment process, grinding/sanding simple edge geometry and sharpening/up keep of your blade.
If you’re completely new to blacksmithing or need a solid, thorough review, this class is for you! You will leave with a new skill and a handmade steel knife. Duration: 4 hours *Beginner Blacksmithing workshop is required to take the Knife Making workshop
Provided items: all equipment and material + safety glasses
Required items: closed toe shoes (preferably boots), natural fiber clothing: long sleeve shirt & pants ie cotton/linen NO SYNTHETICS ie polyester/spandex
Please bring a water bottle. Snacks will also be provided.
